Red Cross Babysitting (Blended Learning)

This course educates young individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This class helps participants develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, help children behave, and learn about basic child care. This class includes a Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification as well. Students will receive a link to take the pediatric first aid and CPR part online before the class (2 weeks before class). Babysitter’s Training and skills sessions for pediatric first aid & CPR will be in-person. Please bring a lunch to class.

Ages: 11-15

Community Garden

The Washington Township Community Garden is located at the corner of Cosgray and Rings Rd. at Amlin Crossing Park. Plots are 12′ x 14′. You don’t need experience, just a willingness to learn and maintain your garden for the duration of the growing season. Plots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to returning gardeners. A volunteer committee oversees the day-to-day operations of the garden.

To be a part of the community garden, gardeners should plan to:

  • Visit the garden two to three times a week during the growing season.
  • Harvest produce on a regular basis.

Please read the Community Garden Guidelines before registering, as compliance with these guidelines is a requirement for participation in this program. Registration begins February 20 for returning gardeners, March 10 for new gardeners (WT/City of Dublin residents), and March 17 for new gardeners (non-residents).

Free Hands-Only CPR

This course is intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR, but does not need a course completion card to meet a job requirement. It’s ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers and students. Topics include:

  • Adult, child and infant CPR and AED.
  • How to help a choking adult, child, and infant.

Ages: 12 and up

Blended Learning – CPR for HCP

**To schedule your skills check appointment after you have completed the online class, please complete CPR Skills Checks Appointment Request. Appointments last around 20-30 minutes. Disregard the February 5 date above.**

This blended learning option is for those who have completed the online HeartCode® BLS ($37) course on the Amercian Heart Association (AHA) website. Once the online portion has been completed,  you can schedule your skills check. 

CPR for Healthcare Providers is specifically designed for those who work in the healthcare field. Topics include recognizing several life-threatening emergencies, providing CPR, using an AED and relieving choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Ages 18 and up.
